Vancouver is a wonderful place to visit at all points throughout the year. There is such a variety of options as to how you are going to spend each day. I have devised this list in order of my favourite places to go around Vancouver

1.) Stanley Park 

vancouver tourismNo trip to Vancouver can truly be considered complete without stopping at Vancouver’s number one tourist destination. Stanley Park. This enormous and immaculate place is filled with exciting things to do for the entire family. Such as getting to know the landscape on a hike through the Stanley Park trails or admiring the coastline from a horse drawn carriage. Located just north of the midtown region, it is surrounded by several places to dine and drink. As well, there is always the option to pack a picnic and enjoy your lunch in the park. 

2.) Granville Island 

vancouver cityGranville Island falls at an easy number two on the list. Located just south of the downtown peninsula underneath the Granville Bridge. This is a great place to experience and enjoy the true culture of Vancouver. With such a variety of food and drinks, Granville is referred to as the “Food Lovers Heaven” and that is not even all. Once upon a time, Granville Island was filled with factories, saw mills and other production line equipment. However, throughout the years, the island has been populated with a variety of different arts and crafts stores, boutiques, theatres and an indoor market. Granville Island has everything you need for a great afternoon. 


3.) Capilano Suspension Bridge 

visit vancouverFound just north of Stanley Park is the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Take in the fresh woodland air as you stroll over the suspension connect. This Vancouver landmark takes you over the Capilano River and the view from up on the extension is somewhat is glorious and regardless of whether, if you enjoy touching with your inner explorer. This is the perfect place to go. The scaffold is 460 feet (140 m) long, and sits at a stature of 230 feet (70 m) over the water making it number three on my top places to visit in Vancouver. 


4.) Chinese Garden 

vancouver china townVenture back to fifteenth century China at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. This excellent and practically supernatural nursery is the first of its kind located outside the region of China. This presents the opportunity for the individuals of and visiting Vancouver to experience and investigate Chinese culture. This building is truly unique site, covered walkways and immaculate pavilions make this a perfect year round venture. I feel it is definitely worth signing up for their guided tour if your in the neighbourhood. After all, National Geographic did name this the top garden in a city.

5.) Canada Place 

vancouver cityCanada Place has become a symbol for the city of Vancouver, and for most tourists, Canada Place is the spot to go. Both an assembly hall and a shipping terminal. Found right on the water of Vancouver Harbor, guests can appreciate The Canadian Trail. A light strolling trail that enables guests to take a relaxing walk down the beautiful harbour or relish in the architecture of this amazing place. 

6.) English Bay Beach 

Just on the edge of downtown, English Bay Beach, also known as First Beach. Is the most well known sea shore in the city of Vancouver! While great beaches may not be the primary thought that strikes a chord when you consider Vancouver. However, English Bay Beach is one of the top things to do in Vancouver. There’s a variety of bistros, snack bars, kayak rentals, volleyball courts and even a swimming pontoon. In the event that you visit in the winter, attempt to make it for the Polar Bear Swim that happens on New Year’s Day each year. The Stanley Park Seawall boarding the east side, this is the perfect “Two birds with one stone” kind of day.

7.) Science World 

For anyone with even the smallest enthusiasm for science, you will have an awesome time at Vancouver’s Science World. Previously known as the Telus World of Science, this place is filled with interesting science shows and mesmerizing displays. A great place to ignite your mind with all the different intriguing presentations and cases. As well, the building is equipped with the ONIMAX theater, providing a great way to take a break midday. Science World is a place the whole family will love.


8.) Museum of Anthropology 

Situated at the University of British Columbia, the Museum of Anthropology is widely acclaimed for its presentations of the Natives of the Pacific Northwest. This is a great place to learn about the history of the British Columbia area as well as the culture of the First People of Canada. Packed with more than 16,000 items all in plain view for guests to appreciate. The spotlight here is truly on the way of life of, as guests can encounter customary Haida houses and Museum house posts around the exhibition hall grounds.
